Founded in 2012 by Gary Walker and David Scaman, GD Logs embarked on a journey with a singular vision: to become the leading solid fuel supplier in the North East of England. Our Founders:
Gary Walker and David Scaman, driven by a shared passion for providing top-notch solid fuel solutions, co-founded GD Logs in 2012. Gary’s relocation to West Yorkshire a decade ago led him to establish Swept. www.getswept.co.uk, a HETAS approved chimney sweep business. While he now focuses on Swept, Gary remains keenly interested in the ongoing success of GD Logs.
Sole Leadership:
In the capable hands of David Scaman, GD Logs has thrived and grown. David’s leadership has been instrumental in steering the company toward new heights, consistently achieving milestones that reflect our commitment to excellence.
Milestones:
- Founded in 2012: Gary Walker and David Scaman established GD Logs with the goal of becoming the premier solid fuel supplier in the North East of England.
- Shift to Kiln Dried Firewood in 2014: In 2014, GD Logs made a pivotal decision to shift to kiln-dried firewood, prioritizing enhanced quality in our product offerings.
- Online Retail Store in 2016:Embracing the digital era, we launched our online retail store in 2016, offering customers a seamless and convenient way to explore, choose, and order our products.
- First Retail Unit in Shiney Row in 2018: In 2018, we marked a significant achievement with the opening of our first retail unit in Shiney Row, providing convenient access to our high-quality solid fuels.
- Relocation of Storage Facilities in 2018: In 2018, we relocated our storage facilities to strategic locations, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring timely product availability.
- Expansion of the Fleet in 2021: In 2021, we expanded our delivery fleet, including the adoption of electric delivery vehicles, to enhance our commitment to sustainability and efficient service.
- New Retail Warehouse in Washington in 2023: In 2023, we celebrated the opening of a new retail warehouse in Washington, providing an expanded space to meet the growing demand for our premium solid fuels.
